Nymphalidae

Calinaginae

Niklas Wahlberg

The seven species of the enigmatic genus Calinaga has long been unplaced in the classification of Nymphalidae, although several authors have suggested affinities with the morphines or Charaxinae. Current molecular and morphological work is placing it as sister to Charaxinae+Satyrinae. One phylogenetic study has been published to date by Todisco et al 2017.
